I moved to Maryland in 1968 and have remained here.  I visit NYC about twice a year. Have many relatives in the Brooklyn, NY area...the neigborhood has changed...we had the best of times in the best of years. You can't go back BUT we do have the wonderful memories.   Claire Class of January 1963

Sorry I couldn't make the reunion.  I have been sick with Ovarian Cancer and I'm getting treatment at Duke University Hospital in NC where I have been living for the past 4 years.  On Tuesday, they told me that I was in remission which was great news.  Does anyone remember me?  I am glad that you all had such a great time.  The pictures were great.

Regretably, family commitments preclude attending reunion. However, I have homes in Hollywood, Florida and Bethesda, MD, and would enjoy seeing old friends. As for Deborah Tannenbaum, I had her for HB English. She was a marvelous teacher and I enjoyed her class more than the English courses I had at Penn.

Can't believe this is happening.  There was never, nor will there ever be a place like Brooklyn to grow up in.  Books and movies have been written about it and I am so grateful to have grown up there.  I am so looking forward to re-connecting w. old friends!  Have always wanted to go to my HS reunion but having left NY in the 70's, I never knew of one.  What  a thrill for all of us. C U there!!

not sure how many will remember me, but hope to hear from those who do. I particularly remember the Dermans, Carolyn Pollard, Carolyn Hirsch and Jay Bridbord; who for some reason called me Sybil.

We went back to Ave M, Kings Highway, Ave. J and Nathans' a couple of years ago with my granddaughter. It's not the same, but the area is still a good neighborhood! Brooklyn was a good place to "come from"!
If anyone lives in LA, please contact me.
Class of '62.

Thank you Hank for setting up a special website.
Went back to the old neighborhood 5 years ago, when my youngest got an apartment in downtown Brooklyn in his last year at NYU. Went up and down the highway, and down Bedford Ave from Madison, past Brooklyn College, Midwood and Erasmus.
Used to have several names for areas, now it is the big housing area for the kids returning, who want an affordable place to live.- and every 10 blocks, there is a name for the "area"- BUT it is still Brooklyn - the fountain of the world.

Great site!  I visit Brooklyn regularly and always point out things are no longer there e.g. the Avalon and the Kingsway.  This site lets us "go home again."

Surprised to see how many of us are still around and how many drs and dentists there are.  Most folks seem still to be in the East.

I was at 1 reunion held in Florida somewhere around 1980 or 1981.  The only one I remember being there was Dale Manheimer.  Remember the Friday nights on Kings Highway. Old memories are good memories.  Where have all the years gone!

So many familiar names, among the living and the dead.  Amazing how old we all look!  And amazing to me how completely I can "go home again".  I'm part of this.  We all are.  Keep in touch.

Hi Connie and everyone else: Who could ever forget Deborah Tannenbaum?  She was...a personage. I've thought about her--and quite a few of you--over the years.
I'm delighted that Hank Schonzeit has taken on the challenge of connecting us all. Thanks to him, I've rediscovered one very good friend already, and I'm looking forward to connecting with and seeing more of you.

Hi, everybody!  This is such great fun!  Does anybody remember Deborah Tannenbaum, HB English?  The Kings Highway Schlumpherei, Philistines, etc.  We read everything - Joyce, Dante, etc. She was a genius  and I'd love to know if she''s still with us.  Write me if you remember me or any of the above.  Thanks.

Many years have passed and, as I can see from the site here, so have many friends.  Our memories immortalize these people and this school.  I took my family back to JMHS 3 years ago and it did prove one thing, "you can't go back", but you sure can remember.  We will try to make 2012 if at all possible.  Best of luck to all!

Madison was the most amazing school and all of us that will attend the 2012 reunion are in agreement.  One can write a book or a movie about our special place and our Kings Highway crowd.
